Okay, gonna post some blunt stuff.
For one - we're not of Judeo-Christian heritage, ok. We're NOT of Judeo-Christian heritage. I continue to hear this - that we come from Judeo-Christian heritage . . . but the truth is we come from overwhelmingly Christian heritage. The Judeo-Christian stuff only confuses things - because modern Judaism and Christianity are completely incompatible. Christians trust in Jesus Christ as the creator of everything and the subsequent Savior of everyone - but adherents to Judaism trust in neither. Big, important distinction here. It's why the two completely separate worldviews exist.
We're in a world that cannot ignore clear terms. We now have an incoming President who professes to trust in evolution while trusting in Jesus Christ too - openly stating that evolution and Christianity are compatible. Confusion is running wild in our world. It's time to get back to the basics - back to the simple truth. The simplest, most basic truth is being pitched out the window. Confusion helps no one.
When we cannot get the most basic things clear - how can we get things like financial matters, gay-marriage, and war and peace clear? I'm serious. I respect fellow Americans regardless of his/her worldview, and would fight for everyone's freedom to determine his/her worldview - but we seriously need some clarity here. There are people in our country today who trust in historic-Christianity, which is the true heritage of our nation, and there are people who don't; this is the truth - nothing more, nothing less. The truth is important.
If people won't trust in historic-Christianity - I still respect the freedom and the person. But let's fix the terms we're working with here. We shouldn't combine things that have zero-business being combined, like Judaism and Christianity - things that won't combine in reality. The US is overwhelmingly founded on Christianity, not on Judaism. Stark terms are extremely important in this present world.
